Bad habits are a widespread phenomenon that can develop in anyone, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. They are repetitive behaviors that can cause negative consequences to our physical and mental well-being, relationships, work, and overall life satisfaction. While some bad habits may seem innocuous, others can be quite damaging and challenging to overcome. The question is, where do these habits come from, and how do they take hold?
One significant source of bad habits is our environment. We are constantly bombarded by stimuli from our surroundings, including our home, work, and social settings. For instance, if we grow up in a home where smoking is prevalent, we are more likely to develop a smoking habit ourselves. Similarly, if we work in a stressful and fast-paced environment, we may turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as overeating or drinking alcohol to alleviate stress.
Another source of bad habits is our genetics. Some people are predisposed to addiction, such as alcohol or drug abuse, due to genetic factors. Moreover, certain personality traits, such as impulsivity, can make people more susceptible to developing bad habits.
Childhood experiences also play a crucial role in the formation of bad habits. Traumatic events, abuse, neglect, and poor parenting can contribute to the development of negative coping mechanisms, such as self-harm, substance abuse, or compulsive behaviors.
Social influence is another source of bad habits. Our peers, friends, and family members can influence our behavior, whether we realize it or not. If the people around us engage in unhealthy habits, such as excessive drinking, drug use, or gambling, we are more likely to follow suit.
Our own beliefs, attitudes, and emotions can contribute to the formation of bad habits. Negative self-talk, low self-esteem, and unresolved emotional issues can lead us to turn to unhealthy behaviors as a way to cope.
Bad habits can arise from a combination of various factors, including environmental, genetic, and psychological factors. Understanding the source of our bad habits is the first step in breaking the cycle and developing healthier habits. By identifying the root causes of our bad habits, we can take steps to avoid triggers, seek support, and adopt positive coping mechanisms.

Trump, what "lies" beneath?

In the movie of the same name, "What Lies Beneath" is a modern-day horror story. If we subjectively examine Trump himself, what do we find? A plot and a personality, like Mr. Santos, have no substance in truth. Trump in the short time this country has been forced to deal with him has lied to the American people continuously. Lacking the basic qualifications necessary to succeed on his own merit, Mr. Trump resorted to fabricating life itself in an attempt to deceive a percentage of our population into believing the untruths he spread across social media. Did you ever stop to think about the things he said that would come true if he wasn't elected? Let's look at a few of his election promises. Trump started off by telling the American people, especially the ones directly affected by the immigration problems at our Southern border, that we were going to build a "great" wall spanning the entire length of the separation between our two countries. The kicker was we were going to make Mexico pay for it. Just the obvious problems associated with a ridiculous statement like that seemed to evade the MAGA minds Trump was attempting to brainwash. Moving on, Mr. Trump stated the first order of business after being elected would be to repeal Obama care and replace it with something terrific. The man had absolutely no idea of how to do that and neither did anyone in his pathetic administration. Another campaign promise that never materialized was Trump's income tax issue which turned into another version of the "Never Ending Story." The invisible audit Mr. Trump complained so vigorously about had as much substance as the man's credibility. Trump lied about everything. Covid would go away all by itself when the summer weather warmed things up a bit. How about the capabilities of a disinfectant being injected directly into the human body? I was sort of hoping he would volunteer for that study group. His dislike for CNN stemmed from the truth that news outlet was broadcasting. Trump's assertion that it was just fake news, was an obvious ploy to hide the truth. Something that ate away at his plastic image. He obviously knew more than his generals, due to the extensive knowledge obtained while attending military school. Trump told the free world our stock market would crash if he wasn't elected. Odd, when Trump left office the Dow was at 31,188 and holding. Today it stands at 33,959, what a terrible loss. Clearly, another lie Trump embellished in an effort to force his way back into the childish minds of his supporters. With the past aside we are now facing a whole new onslaught of lies spewed by Trump in the next chapter of his disgraceful political career. The very fact that Trump can't see his own shortcomings with respect to his politics and his own personal life should cast real doubt on the man's moral and mental makeup. Trump shouldn't be elected, the man should be deported, the only problem "lies" in who in the Hell would want him. Let's ask his wife.
